ABOUT ABOUT

In January 2024, Founder’s Hall at Girard College reopened after 18 months of construction closure. Join DVAG for an inside look at this monumental building and its fascinating archival collections. Kathy Haas, director of historical resources, will give a tour of the newly reinstalled museum, which features expanded sections on Girard College’s civil rights history, architecture, student life over the years, and the school’s relationship with the surrounding neighborhood, all drawn from archival materials ranging from the 18th century to the present. Kathy will also talk about the joys and challenges (and archival research connections) of the building renovations, for which she served as the historical member of the project team. There will also be time before and after the tour for fellowship and light snacks with your fellow DVAG members

This event will take place on May 1st from 4pm to 6pm.  Parking is available on Girard College campus, and is also accessible by public transportation.  For more information:http://https://www.girardcollege.edu/visitors/
